Do Canadian Vending Machines Reject American Currency?
You’d think that after being neighbors for so long with the US, they would finally ditch the thinner, smaller coins and $3 bills and get with the program.
Nothing is worse than wanting to purchase a fat pill from a vending machine, only to be discouraged with a Canadian coin in your pocket and coming up empty handed.

I don’t know if it’s anything like Montreal parking meters…you can trick them into thinking any coin is any other coin. Depends how you put a spin on the coin as you put it in. I often pay one cent for hours of parking.
As for the vending machines…I know american ones don’t accept Canadian coins, and why should they? They’re american and therefore accept american change. It makes sense.
Why are you expecting Canada to change it’s vending machines and “get with the program”? Why don’t you people get with the program? We don’t have $3 bills firstly, and secondly MOST vending machines here DO accept american change because the shape and size are virtually the same.
