Energy Mint Vending Business?

Hello all,
I am close to closing a vending machine business but are trying to get my numbers right and see if this makes sense and will be profitable.
First of all this is an energy mint which I have had and loved, I think having it in a gym, bar and on a college campus would be a hot item.
The deal I am working out would cost be $12,250 for 25 vending machines and the right to buy this product for the merchandisor at a discount price and also would give me retail rights.
Retail rights aside I am trying to get the vending info straight and this is what I came out with.
12,225 – 25 Vending Machines
3 partners – Partner A half is 6112 Partner B 3056 Partner C 3056 = 12,225 – 25 Machines and retail rights.
1 Vending Machine holds 1,000 mints selling at .50 cents each. 1,000x.50=$500.00
$500.00 (-$200 manuf cost) =$300.00
$300 X (.40 vending profit $120.00) = $180
$180 / 2 = $90.00 my cut $45 Partner A and B.
Please keep in mind that these energy mints are new and are compared to energy drinks, 5 hour energy and such.
Does look profitable to you?

  1. Mike the vending guy Says:

Well the obvious point is that the machines are way overpriced, your basically buying bulk candy machines, which you can typically buy for anywhere from 150-250 each. Also are you going to be paying a commission to these locations or are you planning on putting the machines in on a charity? Also how are they acquiring the locations for your route? Also most bulk candy machines only charge 25 cents each, so I am sure it might surprise some people that your machine is charging 50 cents each. Check out the web site below. Also don’t forget to check out the Better Business Bureau on this company you are going to buy machines from.
