How Do Vending Machines Read Dollar Bills?
I know it scans the bill, but what particular part of the bill does it scan?
Some say the face on the bill, others say the numbers in the corner.
Does anyone know the answer with a reliable source?

It is programmed to know a dollar from a five dollar bill, that is why it only accepts the dollar put in a certain way faced up. Put it in face down it will send it back out because it is foreign to the scanner. That part of the bill is not stored in its memory.

Every vending machine has a computer program that works like ‘face recognition’. This is why streak rules posted, face up, face down, etc.
Computer chip reads ‘image’ and determines how much it worse

I don’t know,
I don’t care’
I do know the next time one spits my dollar back at me I am likely to kill it, if one can kill a machine
