How Much Do You Think Vending Machines Have Robbed You Of Your Hard Earned Cash Over The Years?
Just curious, since the pop machine just stole my $1.50. It got me to thinking about how much money I’ve lost over the years.

Jenn, you can sobber on my shoulder anytime when it comes to that. I have lost more money in vending machines. I think the night custodian thinks I’m a psycho from hell. I’m usually the last one out the door at night, since the majority of this office come in earlier. I like to sleep later, so I start my day around 9 and don’t leave till about 630 or so. If I have a lot of work to do, its not uncommon for me to be here past 8…Oh yeah, let’s get back to what you asked,,,(sorry)
I’ve probably lost maybe in excess of $50 (lifetime). That’s a guess. The other night I was smacking the machine like I was in the ring with Oscar De La Hoya. The machine didn’t throw any punches back, but it sure was looking at me like, Stupid @ss.
Yesterday, I went to the vending machine, put my quarter in and it spit it out, but instead of hitting the change cup, it bounced out and rolled all the way under another machine, so i couldn’t retrieve it. I knew that was my signal, time to go home.

1:50 for your pop wow i get a big bottle of pop out a machine for £1 it was worth it though i was thirsty and it was nice and cold i like it like that if you get a can its 60p but i was tired of cans wanted something different why don’t you just tie a piece of string to your money then when it drops in pull it out again? i lost loads of money on those public telephones they eat money like crazy and when you put the phone down and still have like 50p of calls left it don’t come out but i have not lost much through vending machines i can remember

Oh, and that reminds me – I have a woeful tale about a hot drinks vending machine. I put my 35p in, and pressed the button for tea. Out came this disgusting brown water with floaty bits. I went and told the staff at the centre, and they replaced the tea cartridge. I asked for my money back, since the dirty water had put me off drinking tea. She fished around in the machine and handed me 30p, saying that there were no 5p’s. This was not true. I had just put 5p in there! AND, what’s more, surely I should have got the extra 5p, since I was the one that had had to go through the trauma of a bad cup of tea?

funny u should say that… today after school i wanted ice cream from the vending machine, so i popped in a golden dollar coin (U.S.), but then I changed my mind, and pressed coin return, and out came $1.60 in quarters and dimes

Probably about £2.00. I very rarely use vending machines.

Wow… Probably $100.00 and I’m only 26.
It’s bad enough that a soda costs $1.50
When I was a kid they had drink machines that cost 10 cent.

Good question! I’ve never thought of that…
I think I’m owed an entire years worth of M&Ms as they always get caught and never fall out right.

I can’t say I’ve lost too much. There have been times when I did receive 2 items for the price of one or found some extra change that someone forgot to grab. I guess it’s pretty much evened out.

Yeah when it says exact money please and you put in £1.00 and loose 60p I’m going to say ive lost a good £10.00.
