Probably because people were breaking into them and stealing stamps and any money they could get to. I believe you can go online and purchase stamps now or doesn’t Ralph’s sell them at the registers or courtesy counter like Kroger does? If not, it might be something to suggest to them.
My grandfather owned a do-it-yourself car wash for years and there was always someone breaking into it at night for a handful of quarters. Too lazy to go get a job and be a decent human being. That was 20 and 30 years ago so think how bad society is today with even more spoiled people out there who could care less about others or the damage they do to someone’s property.

Just another example of government’s assy decisions. They are doing that is a lot of places and there is no logic behind their stupid decision. They would rather see people wait in line for half a day. Many grocery stores sell stamps, but only the usuall ones, no special ones. You can also order them by mail for no additional charge. By mail, you can get anything you want.

I am not sure. Maybe it cost more to maintain them.
