About the only thing I can think of is that the food will always be clean and cold, or hot as the case may be. Oh, and school districts make money from their cut of the proceeds.
The problem with vending machines is not the machines themselves, but what is put in them. It would be easy to load them with healthy stuff, but nobody ever does.

just standing there and admiring all the yummy bites gives a good feeling
Quick, easy, convenient, sometimes cheap, many choices…but I personally don’t like them….mostly because of what goes in them…if the foods in them were more healthy, then they’d be great!

well back in day the when I forgot my lucnch ticket I will have to deal with my hunger and buy junk food good or bad you decide =P

They are easy in house grocery store to full fill temporary hunger and energy needs.
