Why Is It That Vending Machines Refuse To Take Pennies? I Mean, Pennines Are Money, Too, Right?
One day I’m dying for a diet coke, but wait, not one quarter, nickle, quarter, dime in sight, but yes I have pennies. However, the evil vending machine refused to take my money. Why are pennies being discriminated against?

Probably because they would fill up the change receptacle inside the machine since it would take so many of them to buy something.

Good thing is that most toll booths still take them.

i think that one day ,everything that is is purchased in America ,should be paid for in pennies.if your are closing on your home, pennies. buying a car, pennies. giving a hooker.pennies…that would funny to see a hooker paying her pimp in pennies..

I feel your pain…I have been in that same situation…I think it has something to do with the capacity of the coins in the machines…

Pennies will fill up the coin sleeve far too quickly and won’t allow too many people to use the pennies anyways.

Well, if many people were to buy cokes with pennies, wouldn’t the machine’s storage of coins become too full? That’s happened to me as well.
